Everything you need to know about caring for your new purchase from Romantic Superstore.
⚡ Charging
Toys typically will only have a partial charge coming from the manufacturer. We recommend that you fully charge them before the first use. This will help preserve battery life.
Please be gentle when plugging in and unplugging your toy. The charger port is usually the most fragile part of the toy and it will be ruined if it breaks.
When you plug in the toy a light will come on. Most toys blink while charging and the light goes steady when the charging is complete. Some have a steady light that either blinks or turns off when the charger is complete. Pay attention to what the light does when you first plug it in. When the light stops doing that and starts doing something else, it’s time to unplug the toy. Be careful not to over charge your toy. Every toy has a different charging time. A good rule of thumb is to never leave your toy on the charger for longer than 2 hours, as it can wear out the battery.
We do not recommend using “Superchargers” to charge your toys (these typically come with newer model phones). Instead, use a charger with no higher than a 1.5 Amps output — a standard USB outlet or slow charging USB block. Slower charging is more gentle on the battery.
✦ Instructions for Use
To turn on most toys press and hold the power button down for 3–5 seconds. The toy will begin to vibrate or the light will turn on. Once the toy is on, you can use a single short press of the button to cycle through the settings. To turn the toy off, press and hold the power button down again for 3–5 seconds until the vibration stops and the light turns off.
✧ Cleaning
We recommend using a toy cleaner to clean your toys before and after each use. Some soaps will leave a residue behind that can throw off vaginal and anal pH, killing healthy bacteria that live in those areas. Do not use harsh disinfectants, such as rubbing alcohol, on your toys. They can dry out toy materials and cause them to deteriorate.
💧 Lubricants
⚠️ Important: Do not use silicone-based lubricant on silicone toys. The liquid silicone will break down the toy causing it to peel or melt.
Water based lubricants are safe to use with all toys. Hybrid lubricants (water + silicone) are usually okay with most toys, but it is best to spot-test them before use. Please be careful when choosing a lubricant with ingredients such as glycerin (a sweetener that can make lubes sticky and cause vaginal infections) and parabens. If you would like help choosing the right lube for you, please ask! We’re always happy to help.
